The Basics
Welcome to my first post on my blog and this will be a tutorial on Adobe Photoshop. This tutorial is for beginners who is willing to learn photo editing and manipulating. Hope you'll enjoy :)
I will discuss the basic parts of Photoshop how I understand it and how it works but some of the parts are self-explanatory and some of the parts here can be seen on "Paint" that's why it will not be hard for you.
Below is the actual image of a Adobe Photoshop CS3 and its parts.
The Tools is the one that you will use in manipulating your photos.
The Navigator basically shows you the smaller type of your work or image and guides you on your work.
The Layer Pallete is the Station for Managing layers. Layers are a very powerful tool for image editing, and are a fundamental tool in Photoshop for creating complex images.
Now that you have seen the whole Photoshop, we will go into details.
The Tools Pallete
Below is the different parts of the Tools Pallete
I will just be discussing to you the Basic Tools that I always use here but don't worry as we go on we will deal with the other tools.
1. Marquee Tool- These are selection tools. It has 4 kinds the rectangles, ellipses and 1-pixel rows and columns. You can use this for selecting a portion or a part of an image.
2. Lasso Tool- also a selection tool and has 3 kinds Lasso Tool, Polygonal Lasso Tool and Magnetic Lasso Tool. Lasso and Polygonal is a selection tool that gives you a freehand meaning you can decide what shape you will do to select while Magnetic Lasso Tool lets you set edges to stick to any contrasting surfaces or background.
3. Clone Stamp Tool- it allows you to duplicate or clone a part in your image.
4. Pen Tool- this tool lets you create a path and when you have created a path you can cut it.
5. Type Tool- Lets you enter text in your work or project.
6. Brush Tool- it is the most useful and easy tool in the photoshop and i used it a lot. It is a painting tool that can be used and you can just download brushes from the internet and use it in your image.
-Don't be afraid to explore things. It is a way of learning.
